ARM's Rapha House
Homes for Girls in SE Asia

IMPORTANT NOTE: With the wonderful growth of the work at Rapha, we will once again be including updates in this foreign report!  However, be advised that due to the sensitive nature of our work, there will be no photos of the girls or details that could compromise security.  Thanks for understanding.

Imagine ... Just Imagine

Stephanie Freed, USA Director of the Rapha House

Imagine being a young child and watching your mother take a handful of cash in exchange for your life. Then imagine leaving with the stranger who just purchased (trafficked) you, and traveling so long, and so far that you wake up in a place where the people are not even speaking your language.

Abandoned. Terrified. Confused. Unprotected. Exploited.

Sometimes, when I am visiting Rapha House, I will sit in the evening and listen to the girls playing in the yard. Honestly, I am amazed to hear them laughing. It is hard to imagine how children survive and heal after what they have been through. Miracles take place at Rapha House through the healing power of Jesus Christ.

The Rapha House staff is so blessed that you are partnering with us in this ministry to reach exploited girls with safety, hope and healing. Would you please remember our Cambodian staff and the Rapha girls in prayer? This month, I am asking you to especially pray for the new girls who have just arrived. Pray that their transition would be as easy as possible and that their little hearts would be open to hear the message of their healing Savior.

We also encourage all of you to write to Stephanie Freed (

ARM's Baptistries Around the Globe

Over the years, ARM has donated hundreds of baptistries to mission fields around the world.  Just in the last few issues of this report, you've seen such units used in Mexico, Cuba, the Philippines, and Cambodia.

Just this year ARM has sent eleven baptistries to mission fields in Haiti, India, Cuba, Myanamar, Australia, and the Philippines -- just to name a few.

At the current time, we need sponsors for these baptistries.  At $795 per unit, we have invested more than $8,745 into this program this year so that those coming to Christ overseas can be immersed in obedience to the Gospel.

If you, your Sunday School class, or your church could sponsor even one of these, that would be terrific.  If you can only make a gift toward this baptistry fund, that would be greatly appreciated as well.  Thanks for your prayers and support.

News from Mexico

From ARM's Alfredo Jose Aparicio

I am so grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as during November we experienced spiritual blessings after spiritual blessings. I am so prompt to kneel before HIM and thank HIM for HIS love shown to all of us through you, my dear and beautiful brothers and sisters in Christ.

I have experienced the most wonderful burn out winning souls for Christ! Even though our CIY Conference in Mexico is held for Christian Youth, we had over 50% of non believers attend. I counseled many of them! One of them, whom I baptized, El Borre (David) Mancera (23) uploaded to You tube the pictures he took at this Conference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv0HnMsySpo. At the end of this CIY Conference there was a challenge: Evangelize. Now, most attendees are working for the Lord evangelizing in their neighborhoods. They will dedicate from six to twelve months performing this novel task, work for the Lord Jesus Christ! Results have been great already!  It is so wonderful to experience God’s hand working through these Young people. In two weeks, some congregations have doubled their attendance; most new visitors are Young people. It is so great to see people standing in churches due to overcrowdings. Our witness of the Gospel was also shown at the place where we held this year’s Conference. No one had ever hired these facilities at this resort area to have Christian activities. The owner of the place and the staff were amazed at the Christian testimony. Also, non believers, using the facilities, attended our Christian sessions and meetings. All witnessed our Christian youth involved in so many Christian activities, and they were all so well organized.

Even, our youth are eager to take these Conferences all the way to Cuba.  It is so amazing and impressing to witness young people working for the Lord. This is the result of 40 days of fasting and praying!  Blessed be the Lord!

From the other tasks I perform in the ministry, we had 162 people surrender to the Lord. And, 2,026 new students registered in our Bible Correspondence Courses. 61 graduated from our courses. Let me share a testimony from one of our students:

“Dear teachers of the Bible,… I have been studying your Bible Correspondence Courses for nine months now. I did not imagine how much the Bible would help me in my life. I am an inmate in a very crowded jail.  My prison is located in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru. Its capacity is 3,000 prisoners, but we are 11,000 now. I read my Bible, you sent me, every single day! When I read about Sodom and Gomorrah, I picture my jail. This place has drugs, women, parties, and all kinds of misbehavior and corruption. However, we are 40 inmates who get together to read the Bible, discuss it, and learn from It. Also, we are studying your Bible Correspondence lessons, which I have heard other inmates in other prisons in Peru also study. Sincerely yours, Antonio Quispe Motocanchi (Lima, Perú).

I have so many wonderful things I could share with you, but I will leave them for a different occassion. For now, please help us pray for our dear brother in the Lord, Arturo.  He is a member of the Church in Satélite, Cuernavaca. He is a mining Engineer, who works in the mountains of the State of Guerrero. The area where he works is controlled by drug dealers.  There was a very tense situation starting on November 24th. A group of 50 drug dealers got together to collect $500,000.00 US Dollars among the mining workers. However, the Mexican Army also showed up, and that only meant more problems.  Brother Arturo and his mining co-workers (a total of 50 workers) were in the middle of all this mess. However, brother Arturo told his co-workers that God would deliver them. He started praying for deliverance and the Lord responded in their favor. At the end, the drug dealers left the area, arguing that all was a big mistake. All miners thought they were going to die, but God delivered them.  Please help us pray for brother Arturo, as he is being a good witness for the Lord among his co-workers! Indeed, God has all the power!

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very blessed 2010!

Your servant and co-worker in Christ,
Alfredo José Aparicio

ARM's Branch Ministry in Russia

Report From Dr. Nicholas E. Alyoshin

Glory to Christ, my beloved brother!

IMMERSIONS. A married couple from Lipetsk (the area center; 830 km N from Krasnodar) found the information about DOM ARM in the internet and invited our ministers to fly into that city. The couple was immersed into the Name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit; it was also blessed to live in the Christian marriage. It has been the first DOM ARM sacraments ever ordained in Lipetsk.

PRISONS. The DOM ARM ministers had 18 visits to different prisons, prison camps, police detention cells, deportation camps and prison psychiatric hospitals. We had there the pre-Christmas and Christmas services, connected with the Gregorian calendar Christmas (25-th of December), which impressed the convicts very much, because the true Christmas was not connected with the authorities, trying to force everyone in Russia to take part in their false idolatric “Christmas” according to the Julian calendar (in the Gregorian one it falls on the 7-th of January).

We spread among the arrested people more, than 100 items of clothes, donated by the Krasnodar brethren, and 20 copies of the “New Geneva Study Bibles”, donated by out dearly beloved bro Dr. G. Leiser (Karlsruhe, Germany).

On 11.12.2009 the Russian President Medvedev signed the decree, with which he dismissed 20 generals of Russia prison service (including the chiefs of the Investigation Directorate of that Service, the Investigation Prisons one, the Justice one, the Medical one, the Moscow city one, the Moscow area one, other local ones). All offices were filled not with the Prison service representatives, but with the high-rank officers of the police. Thus, Medvedev is realizing the cleaning of the Prison service (which is the part of the Ministry of Justice). The President also ordered to prepare the law project to reform the Prison service: to liquidate the labour prison camps (thus, at last, to liquidate the slave labour in Russia) and to have only prisons (of different regime types) and the colonies-settlements for the convicts, sent to the distant parts of Russia, but living and working without the guards. This is the attempt (or, better to say, the intention) to modernize the penitentionary system of Russia, using the USA experience. This decision was taken by Medvedev after the whole series of scandals (murders of the prisoners, who were the known public figures; torments; illegal detentions; the rejection to give the prisoners medical help, etc.).

The DOM ARM has put its’ contribution into this reform initiating (my own arrest in 1999, connected with different law violations, with torments, death feelings, etc., the murder in Krasnodar prison of bro K. Meshchishin – the former chief of the press-service of Teterin, when this one was the Russia President Representative in Krasnodar Territory; the numerous murders and torments of our brethren, certified and verified by DOM ARM; the information about all these events was made public by DOM ARM – in my reports and in the other forms, including the straight letters to Eltsin, Putin and Medvedev).

MOSLEMS. My speech upon Jelaladdin Rumi (in October 2009) has produced new consequences. E.g., R. Khabirov – the deputy chief of the Directorate of the Home Policy of the Russia President Administration – sent to me a special letter to inform me, that the Administration had been interested in the speech content and its’ international significance. Bakhtiyor Shirinov – the chairman of the Tajik ethnic society of Krasnodar – on 28.12.2009 organized the taking of the photos of mine, explaining, that he had been asked about this by the Tajik Embassy in Russia and by the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (for some kind of encyclopedia). Sheikh Farid Rashidi (the chief of the Afgan ethnic society of Krasnodar and the deputy mufti of the Moslems of Adygeya and Krasnodar territory) and sheikh Hassan-haji Gurji-ogly of Curmanji (Kurdish tribe) both officially congratulated me with Christmas on 25.12.2009. Therefore, the DOM ARM has now received the contacts in Kurdistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. We are ready to share these contacts with the brethren to be interested in the mission in those countries.

MISSION  TRIPS. In December the DOM ARM ministers visited Kazan (the capital of the Volga Tataria, 1350 km NE from Krasnodar), Lipetsk (area center, 830 km N from Krasnodar) and Voronezh (area center, 700 km N from Krasnor). Kazan and Lipetsk have been visited by our ministers for the first time.

MEDITATIONS. For 25 last years the Evangelical Christians of Krasnodar have been trying to return to the believers the building of the old Evangelish – Lutheran Kirche, which was built in 1894. It is the oldest stone Religious building in Krasnodar and the evidence of the traditional presence of the non-icon-worshipping Christianity in this city. It was confiscated by the communists. Today city authorities also do not want to return it to the believers; they set there the artistic exhibition rooms, the offices of the artists union, etc. Even more, they declared about the idea to create inside this building the restaurant. The DOM ARM has organized some public actions against such decisions (the actions were reported even in the Swiss, German and international mass-media). I personally patiently not once have been writing about this problem to Putin, Medvedev, governor Tkachyov, etc. As the result, on 02.12.2009 the Krasnodar Territory Legislature adopted a new law, signed by Tkachyov, on the official register of the cultural and historical memorials of the Krasnodar Territory. This law includes (under № 366 for Krasnodar city register and under № 4537 for the Russia Federal one) “the Evangelish-Lutheran church of 1894” with the address “Oktyabrskaya st., № 51, A, A1”. This law adoption means, that no further reconstructions (including restaurant) are possible in this building. Even more, this law gives the believers the actual right to demand, that the today owners of the building would have restored the original architectural interior of it, as of the Christian temple, etc. The law also gives the believers the right to ask the prosecutor to make the owners do this. Sure, a big patience, a big Religious and political will are necessary here. We must constantly keep in the mind the order, given by the Holy Ghost through the apostle: “Ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb., 6:12).

DIVINE  ACTION. The Russian authorities continued to cultivate the State Cult of the Flat Idols (SCFI), declaring, that it will improve and even modernize the country. E.g., on 01.12.2009 they pompously brought the so called “Toropets miracle-doing icon of God-mother” from some closed storage in Petersburg to the newly built idolatric temple in Moscow area. The scientists say, that icon was painted in the 13-th century A.D. But the icon-worshippers (including patriarch Cyrillus) say, it was received in Ephesus in the 1-st century A.D. The idolatrists proclaimed, that this flat idol would bring to Russia peace and prosperity. The Divine reply followed immediately: a terrible storm crushed the newly built sea port in Sochi, 8 huge sea-port cranes and a tremendous sea-constructing platform were swallowed with the sea waves – the possibility to transport the loads, necessary for the Olympic construction in Sochi, disappeared at least for 6 month; even more, during the night from 04 – 05.12.2009 a huge fire took place in the night club “The Lame Horse”  in Perm (area center in the Urals, 1 900 km NE from Krasnodar) – it killed 159 persons, and more, than 100 were badly wounded and burnt; most part of the dead and wounded were the Perm area state officials …

To the idolatrists and to all the idolatric state the God Almighty says: “Of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off … but I will send a fire upon their cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof” (Hosea, 8:4, 14).

YOUTH  MINISTRY. The missionary team of the “NIKA”-youth ministry with our daughter Nike ahead was invited by one of the Evangelical Christian churches of Saratov (the area center on the bank of Volga-river, 900 km NE from Krasnodar) to help to the believers to organize the youth ministry there. Our young missionaries came there in the end of December 2009 and will stay there till the middle of January 2010. This is the first visit to Saratov, connected with the DOM ARM.

PUBLIC  RELATIONS. In 2009 I had some public speeches, calling the authorities of Russia to build their environmental policy on the Biblical principle, given in Hosea, 2:18 – on “making a covenant with the beasts”. I suggested to realize some projects, including the one to restore the population of the Caucasian leopard (the idea, being developed by me since my visit to the Gerald Durrell Wild Life Conservation Center on the Jersey island in 1997). These my Biblical suggestions were formulated in the special letters, sent to the Russia leaders – Putin and Medvedev. And on 03.12.2009 during his 4,5 hours TV “talk with the people” V. Putin (whom POTUS Obama named “the strong national Leader of Russia”) declared, that he would develop the project of the Caucasian leopard population restoration. Not naming anybody personally, he, however, said: “Work in this project actively and volunteerly. Everyone’s efforts will be taken into the account”. This development has shown once more, that the DOM ARM course for the using of the Bible rhetoric in the public sphere is a very effective and powerful instrument.

On 09.12.2009 and 23.12.2009 I spoke at two big “public forums” in Krasnodar (the anti-corruption one, and the one upon the relations between the authorities and then non-government organizations).

The biographical article about me in the Russia-language Wikipedia (in Rus. – “Alyoshin Nikolay Evgenyevich”), containing the description of my DOM ARM activity, had appeared in 2008 and was demolished by the idolatrists in autumn 2009. In December 2009 this article was restored in the internet-site http://rabstvo-rus.narod.ru/, which had been created by Andrew Novosyolov – our bro, immersed in DOM ARM and now living in Geneva (Switzerland), as the refugee on the Religious basis. Bro Novosyolov also has sent the named article into 15 000 e-mail addresses all over the world.

REPRESSIONS. A young American missionary in Krasnodar – Jenny Palmer, who is officially registered as the student of the Kuban Evangelical Christian University (KECU), and works in cooperation with DOM ARM, was made by the police authorities pay a fine for “a visa regime violation”. It took place, because the KECU official Sherban (an ethnic Moldavian), responsible for the students registration, “had forgotten” to prolongate Jenny’s registration in time. Sherban paid the fine with his own money on 19.12.2009.

On 17.12.2009 the unknown persons tried to explode the car of K. Larionov (the founder of “Radiation Control” company, who entrusted me to be the field chaplain for their rescue team) with the hand grenade. Jesus saved bro Larionov – he left the car in 20 seconds before the explosion.

On 20.12.2009 the police conducted a search in the office of one businessman, known to support the DOM ARM.

On 24.12.2009 sheikh Hassan Gurji-ogly was ordered to come to the office of a prosecutor of the Apsheronsk district, where he was interrogated by the district prosecutor personally.

We pray for the named sister and brethren and ask you to pray with us.

SUPPORT. We received the ARM November support through Max Goins “We-Go” system OK. Our brethren from Krasnodar served to the DOM ARM with their private cars. All the missionary expeditions around Russia were supported by the inviting brethren. We received the letters, e-mails and phone calls with the expression of support from Rod Farthing, Max Goins, N. Plutenko (USA); Dr. G. Leiser and W. Yoder (Germany); A. Hamzin and E. Filipyeva (Crimea, Ukraine); A. Novosyolov (Switzerland); E. Novozhilov (Poland).

We pray for You all, my beloved brethren and sisters! In Jesus our hope!  Happy New Year!

Dr. Nicholas E. Alyoshin

Sang Ho Kim

Loving greetings to you in Jesus precious name. I pray God for you get still amazing grace on 2009. I deeply appreciate your pray and support this year. I could perform ministries for prisons, reformatories, the released and family of prisoners owing to you. These days, Korea comes to a crisis for some reasons. There is on the increase to ask our help and support on account of adversity in Korea. This ministry doesn't interest by anyone. But Our Lord has helped us to do missionary works for prisoners in spite of decrease in mission money.

As you know, we usually visit 9 prisons and 2 reformatories 15 times a month. We preach to them, support the bibles and books about the religion, counsel and help training discipleship.

Christmas Gift for Prisoners 2009

The Center of Sharing Gifts of Love is sending Christmas presents to the prisoners and their families of 7 prisons and Juvenile prisons. The gifts consist of the underwear, gloves, socks, groceries and cash, especially they are sending to the senior, sick, handicapped and long-term prisoners. They are reaching out to almost 2,000 people.
I am so exhausted because of the endless work, but I strive even more to continue our mission. Our ministry has  gotten  enlarged over the  last 15 years. However, volunteers and contributions are not sufficient. Your prayers and support are necessary to save this dying spirit. Society does not pay much attention to this kind of mission because of the bad economic situation of our times.  I could not have accomplished all of this without your help until now and I will continue to do my best for God's Mission with your continued support.

May the good Lord help you and guide you always as you continue serving Him!

Sincerely,
Sang Ho Kim
