An Update from Joe Garman
Thank you for partnering with The Daughters of Ruth
Foundation. Because of your generosity, and that of others, we now have
$43,921 in our building fund. We need $135,000 to build a 50-girl
dormitory (with activity center, educational unit, kitchen, dining room,
etc.), so we lack only $91,079 to turn this dream into a reality. I am
confident that if we are patient and “wait on the Lord” (Ps. 27:14), that
“God shall supply our needs” (Phil. 4:19).
This month I am scheduled to return to The Daughters of Ruth home after delivering three messages at the Philippine National Convention in Iloilo. I don’t know which I am the most excited about. I am thanking God for the opportunity to renew “old” acquaintances in the Philippines, while at the same time praising His Holy and Precious name that I will be able to see the girls again. We currently have 24 girls with 27 on the waiting list. I usually take bracelets, earrings, necklaces, or toe rings for them. But the greatest gift is Jesus. Just recently, two more girls received Christ and were baptized. The angels in Heaven rejoiced. God is so good - and you are good too, to support them the way you do. Someone has written, “If God brings you to it – He will bring you through it.” I am thankful that God has brought you to us and that He will not forsake the Daughters of Ruth (Ps. 27:10). Our director, Boonlerd Chompukeeree, is also chaplain of the largest women’s prison in northern Thailand. Some girls (prisoners) first learn about our home when Boonlerd visits their reformatory. Several have transferred directly from detention to our home. Others have completed their sentences then telephoned Boonlerd asking if they can live at our home until they find employment. Of course, the answer is always “yes.” Occasionally, a woman serving time will take Boonlerd aside and ask him to pick up her daughter and take her to the home. As long as the girl has both parents in prison she qualifies as a daughter of Ruth. This is how we get most of our girls. Our goal is to introduce them to Christ, give them a roof over their heads, and provide an education for them – in that order. I do not know how we could do this without the help of Christians like you. Note
from Rod: We still need
about 91 churches or individuals who could give $1,000 so we
can build our 50-bed dorm for the Daughters of Ruth.
If you want a 3-minute DVD
or CD-Windows Media presentation to document and share this need
of the DOR, please reply by email to rodfar@arm.org
or call 573-729-6355. If possible, Joe or I would come to your
church. But we can mail these to you within
days. So please let
us know if you are interested in helping! Thanks so
much! Here is Dear Sourms' latest report: There are now 67 girls being cared for at the Rapha
House -- 49 at the main center and 18 at the Reintegration (Halfway
House).
In our agricultural project we are cultivating
mushrooms, running a fish hatchery and fish farm, as well as planting
various vegetables in our fields.
Four families received mushrooms from the center and
are earning an average of $5 per day. Four in ten families in Cambodia
live on less than one dollar per day.
Editor's note: Any
support for the new vehicle, the furnishing of the new building,
or increase in operational support is greatly
appreciated!

Back to top Glory to Christ, my beloved brother! This is my brief
report for March 2008.
1.IMMERSIONS. In March we immersed a known Moscow
public figure, who had decided to run away from Russia and to receive some
foreign citizenship. This month I felt the DOM ARM to be the church for
refugees, because the unusually big amount of people, wanting to run away,
had come to us to receive the Spiritual support (watch chapter 9 of this
report - "Repressions").
2.PRISONS. The DOM ARM ministers in March 11 times
visited different prisons and prison camps. I ordained two convicts to be
the elders for the home churches inside the prison camps. On 27.03.2008 I
met the representatives of some Russian prisoners, who were arrested on
Religious or political basis. The medical doctors have informed me, that
my eyes must have the surgery operations; the first must be operated the
left eye, which was damaged more during the prison torments (1999) and the
attacks on me in 2003 and 2007; for the left eye operation I need three
thousands of USD. I have begun to collect the donations. Pray for it, bro.
3.MOSLEMS. On 02.03.2008 I had a meeting with Hasan
Gurji-ogly - the sheikh of the Kurdish tribe of Curmanjes, living in
Krasnodar Territory. We discussed the possibility to create the special
society for organizing of the dialogue between the Christians and the
Moslems. In Jesus our hope! Sincerely, Nicholas E. Alyoshin DOM ARM
chaplain, prof., etc.
Dear brethren in Christ, May our mighty Lord be with you and your loved ones, guiding you through the everlasting plan. Again, I am pleased to share with you that God has blessed our ministry with great results. In March, we had 83 baptisms. Most of these New Born are young people and teenagers. I am fortunate to let you know these results in the Kingdom of God. You are part of this since you are making great efforts to help us in many ways! Also, 140 people graduated from our Bible Correspondence Courses. One of them shared with us the following: "Dear professor Alfredo, among other things, I wish to thank you, as your Bible Correspondence Courses are being a great help to me in my spiritual life. I hope you do get this letter since all of your mail gets to me with the envelopes already opened. My local authorities have great fear that the CIA is shriveling everything and they open my mail before it gets in my hands. Our freedom in being jeopardized day by day, and people are suffering from paranoid. Please pray for us a lot. Everyday, I read the Bible and the other book you sent me, "100 Bible Themes." I decided to share with others all that you are teaching me. I teach my family every night. I have my wife, children, nephews, and friends. They all like to learn about the Bible. I am an engineer and a respected person in my area, so people do listen to what I have to say. People love God's teachings. Your Bible knowledge is enlightening our paths in Venezuela. We live times of political uncertainty and unrest. I wish I could share more with you, but since the government opens my mail, I cannot expose myself and my family. But, our society is going through many difficulties right now. Please pray for us living in Venezuela. Yours, Demetrio Pino Méndez (Maracaibo, Venezuela). During March we had 2,072 new students register in our Bible Correspondence Courses. A person from Adis Abeba, Ethiopia, Joaquin Kemal, requested our Bible Correspondence Courses. He wants to learn about the Bible in Spanish. Let me share with you that we need your help in prayer for the following: Jesús Villegas (our designer) is very ill due to the much work here at the office. He is our designer, but he also visits our students and sees their spiritual needs. I have tried to let others see and solve some things, but the workload is so big that I have to solve many problems, especially among young people. Counseling is a big need! The Christian Church in Cuernavaca is growing with the great efforts we are making to preach and teach. Pray for the new born to continue faithful to the Lord. 11 churches planted by us need a pastor. Please pray for them. These churches are located in Tlapa (Guerrero), Huetamo (Michoacán), Tejupilco (Edo. de México), Singuilucan (Hidalgo), Vista Hermosa (Tabasco), Armería (Colima), Cuautla (Morelos), Zacatlán (Puebla), Santo Domingo (Hidalgo), Casitas (Veracruz), and San Antonio Huitepec (Oaxaca). I am so grateful to you for your great help! Alfredo José Aparicio Rod, We are the ones who are truly grateful for
you and people like Joe Garman and the staff who are doing so much to
further the kingdom at Rapha House ....what a joy to know that these
girls (and their families) have an opportunity to turn their lives around
and feel good about themselves as well as learn about Jesus. God is good
and we are blessed to be a small part of this ministry. God Bless! In
Christ ..... (name withheld)
Korean Ministry
Report: Sang Ho Kim
I have worked without looking back, which is the only
way to follow the Lord's order "To take care of imprisoned people." I
visited and preached more that 15 times at The Juvenile Prison and The
Adult Prison each month. I had counseled them and helped them to solve
their personal problems. I supported 100 prisoners with varying degrees of
financial aid. I also supplied Bibles, copies of Living Life (a
supplementary book of Quiet Time), newspapers and a Discipleship Textbook
each month. I led fasting and prayer services during Passion week as we
meditated on The Cross of Jesus Christ. Eight hundred Daejeon Prisoners,
two hundred Kongjoo prisoners, prisoners of Chungju prison and prisoners
of Chungju Female prison were joined together with my staff.' We prayed
for their recovery and revival through fasting and prayers. This is one of
the spiritual fruits of our prison mission. The Discipleship training
became the foundation of a prison mission to long term prisoners. Each
leader of a small group conforms to a community at each place. Those of
each group follow a community model of the early church.
