Do you know your ABC’s? "Why yes, I learned those in the first grade of school." What about the ABC’s of SALVATION? Do you know the elementary basic teaching of God’s Word?

These ABC’s are far more important than the ABC’s of the alphabet! The ABC’s of Salvation deal with eternal truths that determine our eternal destiny.

ADMIT You are a sinner, that You have need of Christ as your own PERSONAL Savior, and that all those who obey the Lord Jesus shall be saved. You CANNOT save yourself, nor ADD TO or TAKE FROM the FINISHED WORK of Christ for you.

All have sinned Romans 3:23
Sin results in death Romans 6:23
Sin can be forgiven John 5:24
Jesus loves you and invites you to come to Him Matthew 11:28
Believe He is the promised Messiah Mark 16:16
Tell others of your faith in Him Romans 10:10
"Repent" or "turn around" and walk with Christ Acts 2:38
You can break the power of sin Romans 8:12-14
Put on Christ through baptism Galatians 3:24-27
Here is a summary of what Christ came to do in you Titus 3:4-7

BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of the Living God. You can know He is Whom He claimed to be by the prophecies fulfilled in His Life.

The crucifixion of Christ was foretold centuries prior Psalm 22:14-18
It was prophesied over 700 years before He would be born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14
Christ’s reason for living was pre-ordained Isaiah 53:3-9
Prophets pointed forward toward a new covenant Jeremiah 31:31-34
Christ’s birthplace was pinpointed hundreds of years earlier Micah 5:2
Prophecy told how Christ would enter Jerusalem Zechariah 9:9

CONFESS to the Lord and to yourself that you have certain responsibilities and commitments as a follower of Christ. The more you know of Him the more you will want others to know of Him.

The Christian is to support the Lord’s work monetarily Matthew 22:19-22
Evangelize for Christ Matthew 28:18-20
Start living for Jesus now John 4:35-36
Take good care of your body I Corinthians 6:19-20
Accept your responsibilities in the Church I Corinthians 12:16-27
Remember the Lord in Communion I Corinthians 11:23-24
Keep the faith God has given you II Timothy 4:7
Be truthful Colossians 3:9-10
Be in a constant attitude of prayer Thessalonians 5:17-18
Be faithful in worship Hebrews 10:23-25
Abound in the Lord’s work I Corinthians 15:58
Beware of false prophets II Peter 2:1-3
Return good for evil I Peter 3:8-9
Resist Satan and his ways James 4:7-8
Endure temptation James 1:12-17
Study the scriptures to know the will of God Matthew 22:29

Will You Obey the ABC’s of Salvation?
Testimony of Lyle Ogle - Milan Missouri

Friend, I was down in the gutter. On the preacher’s list of the least likely prospects for salvation my name would have been at the top. In my home town, most people would have called me one of the town drunks. My son came by begging me to go to a revival, but I told him, "there is no way...no way!!!" I was finally persuaded, however, to go with him!

When I got there, it seemed as if the preacher didn’t preach to anybody but me. It was as if he was telling my life story right there in front of me. He said, "without Christ, you are not going to Hell...Hell is coming to you!" I held tightly onto the seat in front of me to keep from going forward that night.

I didn’t understand that God would not force you against your will. I thought He was going to reach out and get me. I didn’t understand that I had to be willing. I had always thought that God and me had a special deal going...but I now know that Jesus and God are One and that there is no way to have a meaningful relationship with God while completely ignoring the teaching of Christ.

I toughed it out that night, but when the preacher came around later and wanted to know if I had ever thought about being saved I said, "Yes, I have thought about it, but I honestly think I have gone too far and there is no hope for me."

He told me, "I had a man once who came to our revival meeting. It took a lot to get him there. He promised me he would come back the next night, but he didn’t. He didn’t have the nerve."

Well, I thought I was one of those who had a lot of nerve and I thought, "Preacher, God may not speak to me tomorrow night, but I’ll be there."

I was there the next night. I had already made up my mind that I was not going to drop my head and look at the ground (we were out in a cow pasture under a big tent for the meeting). I looked up toward heaven. I don’t know what happened next. All I know is that I only took the first step, and God took the rest of them for me.

No one there asked me to fall on my knees and pray when I went forward, but I did. I fell on my knees and prayed, "God, you have to break my stubbornness and make the tears come. I want the real thing. I’ve seen too much ‘put-on’ and ‘show off’ from church goers. I want to go where you want me to go...and stay where you want me to stay."

Friend, God can make the tears come and the repentance flow. He did it for me...and if He could pick me up out of the gutter, there is no one reading this tract He can’t reach. All I can say is, you are missing the greatest thing in the world if you don’t have a living and loving personal relationship with Christ.

There isn’t enough money in America for me to give up what I now have in Him. If you don’t believe me, try it. You will see what I mean. God is real! God has no "grandchildren". When you become a Christian you become a "child" of the King and a joint-heir with Christ.

My prayer is that you won’t live another day without Him. There may not be a tomorrow.
