ARM's Rapha House in Cambodia  48 Girls now at Rapha House!

Here are some excerpts from our Cambodia director's July letter:

ARM Rapha House report of the activities from June 23 to July 23 2006.   During this period of time all the girls at the center continued their education and vocational training. The mushroom project produced an average of 5 Kg each day.  Four victims of sexual trafficking have been accepted to stay at Rapha House.  All of them are still dealing with the court. There are 6 more to be sent from Thailand. As off today we have 48 girls at Rapha House. They are happy at the center and learning skills. The vocational training is best way to prepare them for their future. Please remember in your prayer the 4 girls we accepted this month. One girl endured sexual exploitation, then found her parents would not accept her back home. This 15-year old took large amount of medicine last week in order to kill herself; please pray that our counselor will be successful as she continues to work with her. This month we have been talking with 4 girls that have been at Rapha House for 3 years. At this time we are planning to send them home the first week of January 2007. Another 3 girls that earlier came for learning may go home but still they will continue to go to school at their village and will have follow up from our staff. Please pray for them as well and pray for our staff also that the integration program will work well and will have effective follow up.
ARM is ministering to needy girls in Cambodia through the Rapha House. These girls have been victimized in the human slave trade.  Some are as young as 6 years of age. As the number of girls grows in our new building, we need more operational support. Thanks!

ARM's Branch Ministry in Thailand
ARM's Branch Minister in Thailand is Boonlerd Chompukeeree

The "Daughters of Ruth" aftercare home for girls getting out of prison has begun.  At last report, there were SIX girls in the new home.  This is a fast growing ministry!

Here is Boonlerd's last report:

Daughters of Ruth:    In this month, we would begin the career training for the girls who have come to live with us. We would give them training on making the blankets which will be done by hand. They will learn how to do the work and then they will actually do it and when they finish doing it, they can earn some income. At present, there are two persons who want to get the training.
On 14 June, there was one ex-prisoner who came to visit us and stayed with us for two nights and then he returned to his home.
On 18 June, there was one ex-prisoner who brought his wife to visit our home of Daughters of Ruth. We prayed together and then we had dinner at the house. He told me that he was having a very hard time at present because he did not have any job so he could not earn any money to support his family. He asked us to pray for every ex-prisoner to tolerate the suffering that they may get so that they would have force to become good citizen for the society later.

Prison work:     On 5 June 2006, we went to the Reformatory.  I meet one girl who would like to come and stay with us at our home”Daughters of Ruth” when she is released from the Reformatory because her parents are now in prison and also her brother in law. Therefore, she has no place to return to after she is released from the Reformatory. She would like to have a professional training to work with the patients so that she will have a good job and can support herself in the future.
On 9 June 2006, we went to the Reformatory to participate in the ceremony to cerebrate the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne. It was a very important and meaningful day for all Thai people in the country. We brought some gifts and 210 books of the first Bible to give to the boys and girls there too.
On 12 June 2006, we went to the Reformatory. We had lunch with the boys and girls there. We prepared grilled pork for them. Everyone seemed especially happy.
On 19 June 2006, we went to Central Prison of Phayao Province. We divided our team into two groups. One went to men quarter and the other team went to the women quarter. The Prison wanted us to give an intensive course for the prisoners who will soon be released from the prison for the prisoners who were charged with stealing or robbing in order to help those prisoners change their conducts and behave better before they are released from the prison.
On 21 June 2006, I went to preach at women prison of Chiang Mai Province. We brought 200 books of the first Bible to give to the prisoners there. There were about 300 people who came to join us in the religious ceremony on that day. They asked for Bible and the hymnals from me: 50 Bibles in Thai language, 20 Bibles in Aka language, 20 Bibles in Thai Yai language, 20 hymnals in Hmong language and 50 hymnals in Thai language.
On 16 June 2006, we went to Fang prison.  We brought 200 books of the first Bible to give to the prisoners. There were prisoners who came to ask for 50 hymnals in Thai language, 100 Bibles in Thai language and 50 more Bibles in several languages. Total 150 Bibles.
Our plan to extend the work: Next month, if we have enough budgets, we will extend our work to two more Juvenile Detention Centers which are:
1.      The Juvenile Detention Center in Chiang Rai Province.
2.      The Juvenile Detention Center in Lampang Province.

Mission work:  We have named our church: Love in Jesus Christ Church. Our objective is to love others in the love of Jesus Christ because His love is pure and clean. It is the eternal and sacrifice love, and there is always forgiveness in love.  I feel very grateful when we pray God in the building that we are now renting. When we sing the hymnal, we sing it out loud and the people living in the neighborhood are interested in us. They asked us what we were doing, so I took the opportunity to announce the gospels of God to them right there. Thank Jesus Christ the Lord for everything. --- With love in Christ, Boonlerd

ARM's Branch Ministry in South Korea
ARM's Branch Minister in South Korea is Sang Ho Kim

Warm Christian greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I do my best to the ministry for prisoners owing to your pray and love. I really appreciate it.

Nowadays, we visit 9 prisons and 2 reformatories 14 times a month. We preach to them, support the Bibles and books about the religion, counsel and help training discipleship. We have the interests that awarding the scholarships, supporting the living expensive to inmate's family and sending some gifts on the holiday. It is very important to care the released. We help them to get a job and to live earnestly and religious life.

We evangelized to 25,000 people and baptized to 330 people on 2005. Especially, we hold the "Winter Bible Camp" with 200 students at the Daejeon teenagers' reformatory on Jan 17th to 19th. They all were receptive Jesus Christ and took the Communion service.

We have much interest to help some brothers' families. The brothers who are almost the condemned figure as an evangelist in the prison. We take care about 84 families. They are almost divorced family and poor. We visit them and counsel by a phone. And we try to evangelize to them. Youngju Kim, a condemned criminal for killing one person, does his best to evangelize his best. His wife ran away from home, so his 12-year-old son lives with his grandfather. We've visited and supported living expenses to Youngju's family.

And we presented Bibles/Hymns and Christian magazines to 1300 people due to your support. This ministry is very precious. It is a strong point of mission to the prison that new prisoners come there successively. But a majority isn't concerned about them and disregard in Korea. So there is little helper. It becomes remote from the mission to the prison for the difficult state economy. There are lots of asks to us.

We set up sisterhood relationship with 7 foreign inmates: Russian, Mongol, Bengali, Chinese, Indonesian . There are about 300 foreigners at Daejeon Prison. We hope they will evangelize after returning to their countries. Batt's father and his family have visited him from Mongol some days ago. They were impressed to our ministry and Christianity. They want to visit us again.

We support some released inmates for their lodging and keeping faith to Jesus. I've had relationship with Myungsuk Lee and taught Bible to him for 14 years. Myungsuk Lee who had been a gang and served his full time (20 years) for homicide attends as a sophomore of theological Seminary. He wanted to engage in Christian mission work.

I hope you are always joyful and peace in Our Lord. May God bless you and ARM Mission.

Sincerely Yours,  Sang Ho Kim,  Stump Brothers Mission

ARM's Branch Ministry in Russia

Report From Dr. Nicholas E. Alyoshin, ARM Chaplain in Krasnodar, Russia

Glory to Christ, my beloved bro!  This is my report for July 2006.

On 05.07.2006 I immersed bro Alexander in the rehabilitation center for the former convicts. He spent 5 years in a prison; now he lives in Korenovsk-town (50 km NE from Krasnodar). He wants to be a preacher and to plant the Christian congregation in that town.
I took part in two sessions of the Krasnodar Territory Court (as an expert for Religious Freedoms) to defend the Christians, persecuted on Religious basis. Bro Rakhimov has twicely rung me up from Tashkent (Uzbekistan), asking me to come with the Spiritual help. The trip to Tashkent is now rather expensive. Thus, I'm trying to receive the donations from brethren to organize that Evangelization expedition.
Our Student Wing took part in a two-week Evangelization expedition to the Black Sea Coast.  Our Moscow representative Nathaly Koff was the organizer of the catering during the big party (10,000 participants) of US Embassy in Moscow to celebrate the US Independence day. N. Koff has received the personal thanks from the American Ambassador in Moscow for that job.

With the efforts of a number of public organizations, four police officers and one of their unofficial informers in Krasnodar Territory were arrested and convicted for using tortures with electricity during interrogations. I was tortured with such torments in 1999; in 2001 a group of Krasnodar police officers were convicted for such torments using, and now - the new scandalous case. Russia continues to be the state of torments.

In Jesus our hope!  Sincerely,  DOM ARM chaplain,  Nicholas E. Alyoshin
