Baptistry Questions

Q What is the delivery time from the date that ARM receives the order?
A The normal time is 4-6 weeks. If our workload is heavy, prisons that are not sponsored may take up to 6 months. We try very hard to fill these non-sponsored prison baptistry orders within 2 months if time and funds allow.  All others are in the 4-6 week delivery schedule.
Q How much does the baptistry weigh without water?
A About 225 pounds. Two people can move it around the stage area. The following options add about 25 pounds each: water heater, steps and casters.
Q How much does the Baptistry weigh filled with water?
A With approximately one hundred and forty gallons of water the total weight would be close to 1450 lbs.
Q How long does the heater take to heat the water?
A The 110v heater will raise the temperature about 20 degrees in 5 to 6 hours.
The 220v heater will raise the temperature about 20 degrees in 3 to 4 hours.
Q What is the cost for the heater?
A The cost of the heater is $250.
Q Does the heater include a pump?
A No.  The water will circulate by convection.  As the water is heated it will rise and pass through the upper drain into the tub and as it cools it will settle to the lower, deep end of the tub and pass through the lower drain back to the heater.
Q Can you leave the lid on while heating the water?
A You should not leave the lid on because it is made of wood and could cause the wood to warp. If you want a cover to help retain the heat, we suggest the material used for swimming pool covers.
Q Are units available with casters?
A We can install casters so that one person can roll the unit. The cost of the casters is $150. There are caster kits available, for $150, for Baptistries already shipped.
Q How heavy are the casters and how are they attached?
A They are very heavy duty (3 inches in diameter), attached to the frame of the baptistry, recessed inside of the "kick panel", so they only raise the overall height about 1/2 inch.
Q If we order a Baptistry with casters, can the unit be moved when it is filled with water?
A We do not recommend you move the unit full of water.  It would almost be impossible on carpet.
Q Are steps required to get into the Baptistry?
A Yes you will need temporary steps to set on the backside of the unit. The candidate would need to step from the steps, over the edge of the Baptistry, into the shallow end. From there they place their feet into the deep end and sit down.

1. Some churches build or use what they already have available to them.

2. We have steps available that can be stained the same color as the Baptistry. They  can be stored inside the Baptistry and cost $150.

3. ARM provides steps for Prison Baptistries.

Q What is necessary to setup your new baptistry?
A If you order a heater with your baptistry, you will need to have an electrician attach a cord to the heater.  Due to length and local codes requirements, we do not include a cord with the baptistry. Other than that, your baptistry is ready to fill and use.
Q Can water be left in the Baptistry for extended periods of time?
A We do not recommend it, but if you need to, please leave lid off unit.  You will also need to use a water treatment to keep water fresh.
Q What methods of payment do you accept?
A Cash, Check, Visa/MasterCard and American Express.
Q What do I need to know about delivery?
A

    CARD MINISTRY

Q Can cards be shipped to my home address?
A No. Our agreement with DaySpring Cards requires all cards be shipped directly to the prison to the attention of the chaplain.
Q Can a church or individual sponsor cards for a prison?
A Yes. You can either obtain the completed order form from the chaplain and mail it directly to us with your check, or you can give your check to the chaplain and he can send it with his order.
Q Can my Jail or Prison Ministry order and receive cards?
A You may order cards to be shipped directly to the jail or prison in which you serve or volunteer, but they cannot be shipped to your prison ministry address.
Q If there is no chaplain in the jail or prison in which I volunteer, can I order cards for the inmates of that facility?
A You may.   However, you must first secure permission from the administration for the cards to be received at the facility. You may distribute them to the inmates, but you are not to take them outside and use them for other ministry purposes.

Q Why does American Rehabilitation Ministries Prison Outreach offer a Bible correspondence program?
A The A.B.A. is an unique program of A.R.M. Prison Outreach which is actively proclaiming God's Word behind prison walls 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Our courses have penetrated even the most notorious prisons in all 50 states and are currently being used in several major military stockades. Once our advanced courses are in the hands of an inmate, it becomes a permanent teaching, equipping, and reference tool.

Every course provided by the A.B.A. is designed to complement the work of A.R.M. Prison Outreach and meet three specifics

    1. The course must serve as an "Evangelistic Tool" that will effectively introduce a person to the Gospel of Jesus and the salvation that can only be found in Him.
    2. The course must serve as a "Follow-up Tool" that will provide advanced teaching to strengthen a believer's commitment to Christ and ground him in the faith
      .
    3. The course must serve as an "Equipping Tool" that will train and challenge a believer to share his faith with others.

The leadership of A.R.M. Prison Outreach believes that the A.B.A. is effectively meeting the spiritual needs of the incarcerated and proclaiming the love and message of Christ in a manner that will honor God, uphold His Word, and advance His Kingdom!
