ARM South Korean Prison Chaplaincy - November, 2004

We held the Summer Bible School which we hold it twice a year at the Daejon reformatory August 10 to August 12. There were the worship team, about 40 bible teachers and 20 volunteers that they did their best to engage in Christian mission work. The inmates of Deojon reformatory received Jesus and attend divine service every Sunday. This is the first that the 100% inmates received Jesus among the Christian missions to prisons in Korea.

We will also hold the Sejin Vision Camp at the Myungji University and the EverLand August 17 to 19. It is the summer camp for the poor prisoner's children. We are expecting to encourage the children in living and studying the hardest and for them to receive Jesus. We notify the prisoners in 43 prisons of the camp all over the country. And we are obtaining excellent results from it. There are about 100 students who are the prisoner's children and 50 volunteers who take care and help them.

We will hold the gospel concert for teenagers on Monday evening, August 16. About 2,000 teenagers will praise and join each other. The title is the "It's coming New Day". We want to step to teenagers who belong to the wrong and low culture through the gospel music and lead them to enter upon the new life.

We usually visit 9 prisons and 3 reformatories 15 times a month. We preach to them, support the bibles and books about the religion, counsel and help training discipleship. Mr. Sooncheol, Lee who is the condemned criminal became the Christian, so he evangelized about 300 inmates and he is worshiping with his roommates.

We have the interests that awarding the scholarships, supporting the living expensive to inmate's family and sending some gifts on the holiday. It is very important to care the released. We help them to get a job and to live earnestly and religious life.

It is very hard to politics and economy in Korea. Some supports are very low to us. We will do our best despite lots of difficulty. We need your pray and support. Please, help and lead us by the interest and love continually.

Lastly, I'm sorry about the late report. I've been busy but I'll often let you know our mission works. I wish you and your committee make a great advance. God bless you.
