A donor story

Last year, I was preaching about prison ministry at a church in Wisconsin. This couple was there, listening. “Hearing Troy’s excitement, coupled with videos showing prisoners making decisions for the Lord, stirred us to get involved,” they shared. Isn’t that just like God? He takes ordinary moments and turns them into opportunities for extraordinary impact.

Their connection to ARM began that day, but it was ARM’s mission that truly captured their hearts. “We were drawn to the transformative power of teaching the Word, the need for thousands of Bibles, and the desire to get baptistries into prisons,” they told me. For them, it’s personal—
it’s about giving incarcerated men and women the same chance we’ve all had to know Jesus. Thanks to your support, that’s the chance you’re helping provide.

When I asked if a single “aha” moment sparked their passion for prison outreach, they pointed not to one big event, but to a lifetime of examples. “Our parents modeled generous giving to the church and ministries that spread the Gospel,” they said. “We’ve chosen to carry that forward as part of our service to the Lord.” I love that.
It’s not loud or showy—it’s faithful. It’s the kind of quiet, steady generosity that’s been shaped over decades, passed down like a precious gift. Their commitment reflects the enduring impact of support for ARM—and that includes you.

So, what do they hope their giving accomplishes? “We pray the Lord multiplies our gift to reach many men and women for Him,” they said. “We hope new believers grow in faith through ARM’s teaching, becoming disciples who make even more disciples.” Isn’t that beautiful? They’re not just giving—they’re investing in redemption. And because of you, ARM gets to be part of that story, too.

One story I shared with them in a personal conversation really stuck. “Troy told us about a teaching time he was involved with in a prison where two believers from rival prison gangs washed each other’s feet in humble service,” they recalled. “The Lord is at work in the prisons through ARM, and this is proof!”
God’s Word is leading the incarcerated to Jesus, turning enemies into brothers in Christ. That’s the power of what you’re supporting.

When I asked how it feels to know their generosity is changing lives, they said, “If we can help give the gift of God’s Word by making Bibles available to prisoners and support getting baptistries into prisons, we are blessed!” That’s the heartbeat of ARM—blessing others blesses us right back. And we couldn’t do it without you. Your support brings us all joy, knowing we’re part of something truly meaningful.

To anyone hesitant about supporting ARM, they offer this: “We only started giving to ARM in the past year. The newsletters and stories of prisoners following Jesus have been a blessing, making ARM the most exciting ministry we’ve recently chosen to support because of its amazing impact.” That fires me up! It’s a reminder that every dollar you give isn’t just a donation—it’s a seed planted in faith, growing into a legacy of change.

Here at ARM, we’re so thankful for you, our partners, who make this ministry possible. This couple’s story is your story, too—a story of generosity that places more Bibles into prisoners’ hands, baptistries in prisons, and the hope of Jesus into hearts. We’re grateful to have you with us. Let’s keep planting those seeds, friends—God is growing something incredible through you. Your personal connection to this mission is what makes our work so meaningful.
