IMPACT LIVES THROUGH GENEROSITY.
A donor story
The Quiet Power of Generosity Behind Bars
This month, I want to share the story of a remarkable couple, faithful partners with ARM, who are helping plant God’s Word in the hearts of prisoners. When I asked if I could spotlight them, they gently declined the spotlight itself, wanting the focus to stay on the work God is doing. This echoes the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:3:
“Don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” Their humility only deepens the beauty of their generosity—a quiet, steady faith that’s changing lives in prisons. And it’s a powerful reminder that
your partnership with us, whether named or unnamed, is part of something extraordinary.
DAVID & LIBBY'S STORY
From Seneca to Salvation: How A Friend’s Prison Story Fuels David and Libby’s
Passion for ARM
David and Libby Duncan met at Ozark Christian College. Together, they learned about many effective and entrepreneurial ministries in the Joplin area. Just a few are Christ In Youth, White Fields Overseas Evangelism, Good News Productions, International, and American Rehabilitation Ministries – now, ARM Prison Outreach.
They recall, “We first learned about ARM when we were students, and have followed the work for decades. We’ve several times made contact with ARM because friends and acquaintances needed the ministry for themselves or family members.”
from seneca to salvation.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
Legacy Giving
Your legacy can be caring for loved ones and making a difference in the Kingdom of God for generations.
Estate planning is more than just distributing assets—it’s an act of faithful stewardship. The Bible reminds us that all we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and we are called to manage His blessings wisely (1 Timothy 6:17-19). Through planned giving, you can maximize your resources to support your loved ones while also investing in Kingdom work.
Many people believe estate planning is only for the wealthy—but anyone can make an impact through legacy giving. With careful planning, you can ensure that your resources are used to strengthen prison ministry, provide Bibles for inmates, and bring the message of redemption to those who need it most.

How Legacies are made through Stewardship
Biblical Principles of Stewardship
- God Owns It All – Everything we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1-2). We are not owners but stewards, entrusted with His resources (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
- We Are Called to Manage Wisely – Our time, talents, and financial resources are gifts from God to be used for His purposes (Matthew 5:16, 1 Timothy 6:17-19).
- Blessings Are Meant to Be Shared – God calls us to give generously in life and beyond, ensuring His work continues (2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Galatians 6:10).
4 Steps to Faithful Estate Planning
- Set Priorities – Align your estate plans with Biblical stewardship principles.
- Learn Planning Tools – Understand wills, trusts, charitable tax strategies, and planned giving options.
- Gather Your Data – Organize details about your assets and beneficiaries.
- Work with Professionals – Seek legal and financial guidance to create a God-honoring plan.
Key Estate Planning Tools
- Wills & Trusts – A Will outlines your final wishes but requires probate court involvement. A Revocable Living Trust provides lifetime asset management and avoids probate.
- Powers of Attorney – Assign a trusted individual to make financial and medical decisions if you are unable to do so.
- Beneficiary Designations – Assets like life insurance, retirement accounts, and bank accounts can be transferred outside of probate by naming ARM Prison Outreach as a beneficiary.
- Titling & Asset Transfers – Properly structuring property titles and accounts prevents legal conflicts and ensures smooth transitions.
Making a Legacy Gift
Your estate gift to ARM Prison Outreach can be:
- A percentage of your estate
- A specific dollar amount or asset
- The remaining balance after distributions to loved ones
- A contingent gift, should a beneficiary pass before you
